The Executive Director of ENISA, Professor Udo Helmbrecht, recently participated in the high level cyber security panel at the 'EU Science: Global Challenges & Global Collaboration' conference in Brussels.
This is a joint five-day conference of the Irish EU Council Presidency and the European Parliament, placing EU research at the centre of a global discussion on the scientific response to global societal challenges. The theme of Helmbrecht's panel was: Resilience and Trans-Atlantic Cooperation. This included these topics for the panel;
- How can threat intelligence be shared safely between organizations and countries? Are policies sufficient to ensure appropriate data sharing?
- Anonymity is often required by organizations before provide information about incidence. How can anonymity be implemented?
- Attribution of criminal activities in cyberspace is a challenge for law enforcement. What technologies are needed to improve attribution? What policies are needed?
